Webcam of peregrine falcons nesting at the University of Calgary. Another year at the University of Calgary, another potentially promising season with the arrival of the first peregrine falcon on March 31st, 2014. It was spotted on its 'usual' vantage spot, the west-facing top roof area of Social Sciences. Positive ID was made on April 15 thanks to chatter "Birdsinger" - it is "Callie", as in years past. We've got 4 eggs, laid between April 26 - May 2. June 2: First egg hatched. June 4: 2nd egg hatched. June 16: Two infertile eggs were removed from the scrape. June 25: both chicks were banded and identified as males. July 11: First fledgling successfully leaves early - around 7:30 am local time (thanks to various chatters and Irene for confirmation of this event) - is seen only days later on top of MLT! July 18: 2nd fledgling leaves ledge - seems Fridays are 'the' day for departures. July 19: 2nd fledgling returned to ledge after being found on or near the ground. Successful 2nd attempt to leave made next day.
