Studio Video Imports Take VERY Long Time

Hi,

I'm starting a TV channel for my college, the idea is that it'll run via auto-pilot most of the time. We've made some documentaries and films that we want to air on the TV. I just uploaded a 600MB video and that happened in about 5 minutes, but now it says that it's converting it. It's taken about 3 hours to do 2%. I assume it's converting to FLV. How can I reduce the amount of time it takes? I can convert and compress all of the videos via Compressor to FLV. The way I've uploaded this video is uploaded to YouTube then downloaded to Studio via YouTube link.

What's the best way of doing this?
