How would I go about filming live from the field like news crews but on a budget? Thank you

Lots of different ways depending on your budget.
New Livestream has Broadcaster hardware device that attaches to your camera and sends to Livestream.

You could use Teradek Cube attached to camera to send wirelessly over wifi to Telestream Wirecast connected to the internet.

You could use LiveU and send to a server over bonded 3G/4G which I believe old Livetream supports or send it to Wirecast as above.

You can stream to old Livestream through Qik app and service and your smartphone and then connect Qik to Livestream.

New Livestream has a direct smartphone app to stream from smartphone.
