I just downloaded procaster yesterday, it was supposed to be flawless video, without the jerkiness and slow frame rate. When I go live it's like i'm frozen it only shows 1-2 fps on the counter on the left of task bar, and it's NOT smooth and realtime at all??????? Also when I switch from camera to 2d and 3d it took almost 4-5 minutes to change over to the channel?????? I have a pentium 4 and have tried it in Firefox and IE. Any ideas? comments, or something to resolve this???? I like the procaster features but it is not delivering for me what it says?????? Me or the program, or the computer?????? let me know

Well how much memory does your system have?
If you got a lot of things running it could easly bog down a P4 system. Its a bit out of date at this point. Atleast if you're trying to do high resolution streams? Ciao, Shawn |

My problem is that the first day of emission Procaster function properly, good speed, resolution and frame rate. Since then I can not cast more than 3 fps. in any quality.

I think this program is awesome but its not going so good for me. I have a good computer yet the program only records about 3 frames per second.

Same problem here. Computer(hardware) or bandwidth is not a issue, it's the program itself. Tried with different settings and still stuck with very low fps.

Usually this would occur on a lower speed connection or on an older computer with limited processing power. If you get this reduced framerate when using only your webcam it is most likely due to one of these issues. 2D and 3D mix will only further use these resources.
There are several things you can do which should improve framerate: 1. update video card drivers 2. If running Vista change theme from Aero to another like Windows Vista basic. To do this right click on the desktop select personalize, and then click on Windows Color and Appearance. 3. Change Procaster global XML by following these instructions: a. close Procaster b. go to C:\Users\<Username>\AppData\Local\procaster (or C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Local Settings\Application Data\procaster) c. Open procaster_global.xml in some text editor (i.e. notepad) d. change opengl_mipmap to 0 ( <opengl_mipmap>0</opengl_mipmap> ) -Ben Mogulus Support Last edited by benhomer; 23rd April 2009 at 15:50. |
