Default New broadcasting software for Mogulus

Hi!

I'm Finnish software developer and video technician. I have directed and produced hundreds
of live tv productions. Mogulus got my attention and i have to say that this is going to revolutionize the way we think "live reporting". Ok, to the point now..

Mogulus Studio, ok, it works.. most of the time. It's portable.. good. But what if you stream from studio..

Visual Communicator, has 10% of the features you need, when you start seriously stream
24/7.. and i mean the titles, teleprompter, insert playing etc.

So i decided to make it even better and code own stream management and production software that can be used to produce the stream for Mogulus.

It will contains automation features for proper 24/7 nonstop scheduling.
Full title generator, that is fast to edit.
Good clip management, playlists and archives.
Networkable (Mixing unit, graphics unit, slowmotion unit, etc.)
Touchscreen friendly
Fully patchable audio & video
Support for mobile reporters

and so on..

If you have any feature request etc. i am more than happy to hear them..

Especially i'am interested in features that relate to Mogulus. You can use it to produce stream to where ever you want, but what would make it unbeatable with Mogulus??

Happy casting,
Seppo 'Jehvi' Sormunen

Default Beta

Hi!

At the moment we don't have public beta available.
We are doing some internal testing at the moment, but when time is right,
we will open it for public testing..

Software package is going to be commercial, but we want and hope that we
can keep the price as low as possible..

Everything cost now days, and even 350$ for Mogulus Pro is big money for many of the streamers. We are thinking propably to release 2 versions. Cheaper=less functionality, little bit expensive=all the goodies..

However, at this point it would be nice to hear from you, dear streamers, how much ($)
is too much for you? So we can make the software available for as many as possible, and
make the fine decisions what to leave in the cheaper version and what make available only in the full package..

All comments, hints, questions and ideas are welcome...

Thumbs up

Good idea!

If you could get me a cross platform (Wintel /Mac OSX / Linux) studio in a box I could run locally without having to open the studio, I would buy it.

However, I would first like to see an iPhone3G/ iPodTouch app that would enable viewers to view my channels on those devices. This is THE number one request from my viewers and reporters in the field that are already using qik to stream FROM these devices to Mogulus live.

Default Crossplatform

First release is going to be for windows.. (we have faster dev.group for that. )
But OSX version is planned and more than desired. I am a "mac-person" myself, and definetely want to see own product in it..

About iPhone:

Currently we don't do iPhone development, but who knows. if i manage to get my team to get interested in this problem, we might see some results..
We love to get hands dirty on new problems and solving them.

Thank you,
Maybe I'll just write one myself then. (iPhone App)
Keep us posted on the Windows development.

Jehvi,

Mogulus does about 90% of what we currently need. But there's always room for improvement, so here are some suggestions:
1. Private chat - we need a way for viewers to communicate with the producer without other viewers being able to see the chats. In this way, all chats are private. We have been spammed by people trying to sell their x-rated wares through our chat screens. We are a professional company trying to demonstrate our equipment, so these spam-chats are very embarrassing.
2. Screen-shots - when we host a live video, it would be nice to cut over to a screen shot of our software running. We found a work-around using Camtasia Studio from Techsmith. It works well, but it would be nice if this feature were built-in to the Mogulus software itself.
3. Split-screen - we often hold webinars featuring a panel of people in disparate locations. It would be nice to offer a split-screen of panelists that might be located remotely.

Sign me up for beta testing if possible!

I would love to see the ability to switch between cameras not in studio without having to wait for each to cue up: Host/guest, etc.

That's the big thing that's missing and that's the only thing keeping me looking elsewhere for solutions.

Mogulus has just released www.procaster.com - free software with 2d/3d mixing today. It's great but I have one problem already if I want to do 2d/3d mixing I have to have all the cameras connected to one pc, I would prefer to be able to have two cameras streaming so you could have for example the presenter/interviewer on the left and the interviewee on another camera on another computer on the right. As it is...only 1 camera can be shown at a time.
