Hello Everyone,
I'm looking for a camcorder that livestream.com will recognize when it is connected to an iMac so I can stream meetings live via livestream.com. I have a Canon HV20 connected via firewire, but livestream doesn't recognize it. I know I'll need a firewire camcorder, but which specific models will work? Thanks, Todd |

Most firewire DV cameras work with Procaster. If your camera is in HDV mode, however it won't be detected - you would need to set your camera in standard definition mode. Best, Jason |

I just bought new Canon HV40, connected to my iMac using firewire cable (4 pin to 6 pin) but camera is not showing in my Procaster. I tried in iMovie and I was able to access it but somehow Procaster is having problem with it.
I have Lion OSX Please help. |

HKFilms,
Unfortunately, streaming via USB will not work unless your camera supports digital pass-through. To stream with the HDR-XR160, you would need a capture device such as a Black Magic card (to connect via HDMI) or a Grass Valley ADVC-110 (to connect via composite). Different Black Magic devices will input to your computer in various ways, and most are available in our store. The ADVC-110 will input to your computer via Firewire.
