Question Procaster Bitrate Questions

Does Procaster bypass the normal 500kbps limit on free accounts? Is the quality degraded server-side during streaming or does Procaster actually allow 1500kbps bitrate streams with a free account?

Is the quality degraded on livestream's end before streaming to the users? Procaster itself doesn't appear to require this limit.

To clarify, there is a 500Kbps quality limit for imported clips on free channels but there is no bitrate limitation for live broadcasts when using Procaster. The quality is not degraded in any way when using Procaster.

Thanks for the help. I assume this applies to recordings using Procaster as well.

Yup - this applies to Procaster recordings, too.

Question Procaster Bandwidth Limit?

I have a question; I run a free channel with a lot of activity, and have always kept my stream to 500 kbps (the limit for free channels). Recently my internet access was upgraded and I have access to enough upload bandwidth to bump my bitrate up.

I figured I would be throttled to 500 kbps if I tried raising the bitrate, but I tried it (set it to 828) and my broadcast wasn't throttled! If you use Procaster to stream to a free channel, what is the bitrate limit?

There is no bitrate limit when you use Procaster to broadcast live.

Default 500 kbps limit on procaster

For two months ive enjoyed broadcasting on livestream, but i was led to believe that the highest bitrate available to stream live is 500 kbps. But ive just read posts from livestream employees here saying that free channells can stream much higher.

can someone clarify what is the highest bitrate i can stream live events on a verified free channell?

thanks

freestreameast,

You can stream at bit rates greater than 500kbps, but only when using Procaster.
