Blocking people on chat

Hi,

I've got a chat set up on my live feed and to test I blocked a fellow user.

It didn't work, I blocked him for 5 mins but he could still leave messages.

I'm using a mac just so you know.

Can you explain why this is and what I can do to fix thi?
