Visitor count decreasing instead of increasing

Hi,

Earier today I noticed that the visitor counters on the hosting page I have been allocated had changed from a vertical layout to a horizontal one. At that point I had had some 560 visitors recorded in the "last 24 hours" section. Since then however, every time I check the page every hour or so that figure has gotten less and less - now standing at 390! What on earth is going on there? Every new visitor is seemingly reducing the total instead of increasing it. Is there any way to fix this?

Visitor count for the last 24 hours is the total for the previous 24 hour period but is regularly updating, so if you had higher traffic 24 hours ago than you do currently it would decrease. Otherwise you'd see this number only go up.
