I am having a tough time getting the Audio figured out.
We do a call-in type talk show, where we have two show hosts, a couple of guests and several callers every week. We have been using Blog Talk Radio (BlogTalkRadio.com) to do this, but I like the LiveStream concept much better, so we are trying to switch over. Tonight was a demo run where we ran BTR and LS at the same time. I downloaded Wirecast, VidBlaster and the Procaster. I got all 3 to work, IF, I was using my local camera and my local microphone. Problem is - once I try to run the audio through Skype, I start running into problems. No matter what I did, I had a feedback loop problem with Wirecast and VidBlaster. I downloaded Virtual Audio Cables 4.10 and followed several poster instructions for routing the audio, but never could get it to work right. After giving up on Wirecast and VidBlaster, I gave Procaster a shot and had SOME success. So I must be close, need a little bit of help getting it to the end. My Procaster setup was : LIVESTREAM TAB : Automatically go live, automatically add to on-demand, automatically add to autopilot, record my live streams. VIDEO TAB : Source 1USB Video, Encoder On2 VP6, 256x192, 4:3, 25fps, 150kbs. AUDIO TAB : Camera Audio : Line 1 VAC, Screen Audio : Speaker Audio, Auto Mix ON, 48kps, sample 22050, Mono, MP3, Nordic. My Skype setup was : Microphone : Line 1 VAC, Speakers : Live 1 VAC VAC Setup was : Wave In = Microphone In, Wave Out = Line 1 BTR Setup was : I was connected via Skype. I had one host connected to me in Skype. Other two hosts were dialed into the BTR phone number and conferences via Skype. You can hear the result of last night show as BlogTalkRadio heard it here : http://www.blogtalkradio.com/marctim...-racing-report You'll see that all the audio was recorded and everything worked fine. However.. if you go to the http://www.LiveSteam.com/michianaracingreport page, you'll see/hear that while my video was recorded and the machine audio was recorded, my microphone was not recorded. Strange eh ? Now, they can hear me, they respond to everything I say, but the LiveStream recording didn't record me. Any ideas ? |

VidBlaster only allows one audio in unless things have changed recently. Maybe look at your sound card settings.
Wirecast you need to make sure you don't have other audio looping through your camera. Select the Shot for the video camera, double click, select channel A, click on Playback tab, click off the speaker or lower the fader. Since in any of these setups, it's easy to confuse monitoring Skype vs monitoring the stream itself, I'd recommend monitoring the stream on a separate computer. While that doesn't solve your problem, you'll hear it immediately. I use Wirecast to take Skype calls all the time. On Mac I use SoundFlower but on Windows VAC, which you are using, basically does the same thing. Keep in mind that in most cases a device, whether video or audio can only be seen by one program. In other words, if Skype is getting your Mic, Wirecast, etc may not get the Mic. Basically that means your complete Skype conversation needs to be sent to the streaming program. I haven't tried VidBlaster and Skype so maybe I'll have a look and see if I can spot something there too. |
