Unhappy Can't open video file recorded by procaster

I'm using Procaster Mac version. I set up to record file in my HD, but after ending streaming I tried to open the file and it doesn't open. I've tried to encode on HandBrake, but it says "the source can't be open". What can I do?

Default Procaster has several serious problems (Mac OSX)

I have experienced 3 serious problems with Procaster version 2.0.35

1. Procaster is very faulty. It shuts down sometimes.

2. I have also never ever had any luck with the file writer. It never properly writes an MP4 file longer than 5 minutes. The file headers are not properly written and the file is faulty. It won't play. I have recovered the video on some of the files, but without audio (so useless). Then I haven't been able to recover on some. I used a PC application called All Media Fixer.

3. Also sometimes it doesn't record on the Livestream server.

I have probably posted 5 tickets with Livestream support. They haven't done anything or said anything or solved anything.

All I have to say is that their product and support stinks.

I am also experiencing exactly these problems.

Did you try mailing procaster@livestream.com instead of creating a ticket?

I uninstalled the previous version, and installed the last one.

Procaster fails to write the file to disk if the recording session is longer than a few minutes. The file is there, but no player can open it (QuickTime, etc.)

If you can, please send me the file that procaster created to procaster@livestream.com with the title of this thread as the subject, and the link to this thread in the email. Also specify the version of procaster you are using as well

Smile Your Procaster Issues

There are thousands of us using Procaster and it is impossible for support to write each of us.

I do Procaster support for PTN and have found the PC ver. to be the most stable. Most of our show host use the PC ver.

However, I use the Mac ver for my show and testing. I agree with the issues concerning recording on Mac. it is limited to a few mins.

As for Livestream, in the last 32 shows this year, I've only lost 2 shows... that is not bad.
If you have an issue downloading your video from Livestream, you might want to invest in a dazzle or ADS pyro unit and drop you live feed to another computer. That is a sure way to record and have it saved in the format you choose.

I'm able to run Procaster on my Mac for several hours without issues. When you say faulty.. what other programs were you using when you have a problem? Those details are very important.

Have you run a speed test to make sure you have the upload bandwidth? that can cause a few other issues.
