When I open another video screen goes black

So if I have a video opened on my computer before I start the stream it works fine, but if I open a video file after I open the stream, its a black screen where the video would be. Only the video stream, and I can stretch the black area , but the video is showing ok on my computer. Has anyone had this problem? I am not sure how to fix it.....
