I appreciate the efforts to make it easier for producers to ban someone from chat via IP for a certain length of time - it has been a big help. But the issue I am encountering is this:
I can't seem to find a way to ban someone who isn't IN chat. We have people who come in and spam chat w/ 30+ lines of text w/ expletives, sexually degrading comments, etc. and then bolt from chat so when I try to ban them as quickly as I can, all I can do is clear their messages. There is no way for me to prohibit them from constantly spamming and running. If there is a way, please let me know, as I might have missed it. But for now it just tells me the user is offline and I can clear their messages. Our show lasts almost 2 1/2 hours each weekday and I spent an hour of the show today simply trying to move fast enough to catch the spammer (I suspect it was the same person w/ a new chat name each time but I never was able to) and clear their messages. I know you can require a log-in chat but wondering if there is a way to prohibit this w/out requiring accounts. Thanks. |
