Screen ratio for video on demand changing randomly?

This is a rather odd issue I've encountered with my video on demand clips.

In many cases after watching a certain clip or just connecting to the channel, if I try to watch any Video on Demand clips I have done, the screen ratio is displayed improperly. I will end up seeing the screen horizontally "squished" making the image less wide than it should be.

These videos SHOULD be stretching to fit the entire player window, and yet they are not, as quite a bit of blank space can be seen on both the left and right sides in the window. Any idea what might cause this? Because it only seems to randomly remedy itself. I'd like a more permanent fix.
