Single embedding aspect ratio

I am trying to embed a single video clip into a page, but it will not let me change the aspect ratio of the window.

I have edited the embed code as follows;

&playeraspectwidth=16&playeraspectheight=9&width=4 80&height=270&wmode=window

However, it displays correctly until you hit the play button, and then it reverts to a square format (270 x 270)!

Any ideas or help would be most appreciated.
