Default Preferred digital rate?

Hello,

A few questions regarding your free and pro services of Livestream Platform:

1) Does your service encode the digital audio and video feed or do I need to have an encoder?

2) What's the preferred data rate for digital audio and video with your live streaming platform?

3) Should I use USB 2.0 or firewire with my Mac?

Thanks,
John

In answer to your questions

- You can encode using the browser based Studio or Broadcaster with no need for another encoder, or you can use a program like Procaster (free download at www.procaster.com) or Flash Media Encoder for higher quality encoding.

- For a free channel you can encode at up to 500Kbps total bitrate, on a Pro channel you can encode at up to 1700Kbps. The optimal datarate depends on your needs and the connection speed of your viewers but we have seen that 700Kbps is a good speed to offer the good quality for the greatest number of viewers.
