Seems to be another one of these threads.
On a fresh reboot of my system, i launch Procaster, then i launch the game, and start the broadcast from ctrl+f1. From here, everything works just fine....but at a random point, my game would crash. This happens with Tribes Ascend, as well as Left for Dead 2. Once it crashes, i would attempt to re-launch the game, only to find that it will immediately crash (without going live) at the menu screen. (Tribes only. L4D2 allows me to reboot the game without crashing until it would eventually crash at some random point during gameplay). Tribes has a built in crash report handler, that reports "Filename not found" for various areas throughout my system, including (and specifically pointing out) my procaster directory and DLL files. I apologize for not having the log, as i am at work but i would gladly reply to this thread with all the crash info i can come up with. My initial suspicion was something to do about the DirectX levels. I have reinstalled my NVidia drivers, as well as the latest Direct X software only to have no effect. This happens with both the Procaster software, and XSplit. Regardless of which software i use to capture, ONLY the game crashes. Procaster and XSplit both are still running as though nothing happened. And before anyone asks: Yes, i confirmed that the games only crash when i have either software launched. This is not ONLY a game issue. I dont even have to broadcast or go live, and it will still crash. My Upspeed is 1.0, and my Downspeed is 1.5, so i can rule those out right off the bat. CPU - AMD QuadCore 2.7 mhz Memory - 3 GB Corsair OS - Windows 7 x64 SP 1 Video - Geforce GTS 450, 512mb @ resolution of 1920x1080 16:9 resolution, running at ~600 bitrate. If you need more info, ill gladly provide more when i get home. Otherwise, does anything come to mind? |

Since the ticket is closed, and i havent received an email back, im going to bump this thread.
An update since my OP: CPU - AM3+ 8150FX 8core 3.6 ghz MOBO - ASUS Sabertooth 990FX RAM - 16gb Corsair Video - GeForce GTS450 My computer is not the issue, its the compatibility between the procaster software, and the game. Anyone else experience this? I just streamed for about an hour without a crash, then all the sudden bam. Once again, i think its a DirectX issue, but i need a solution. Thanks! :Edit: Here's an excerpt from the log file: GCapture-17:54:45:TRIBESASCEND:Keyboard record start GCapture-17:54:51:TRIBESASCEND:Keyboard HUD hotkey GCapture-18:48:36:TRIBESASCEND:GetFramePrep: GetRenderTargetData() FAILED for image surface.(0x88760868), pass = 91091 GCapture-18:48:36:TRIBESASCEND:CGameCatcherGraphX: GetFrameRing Failed GCapture-18:48:36:TRIBESASCEND X9:GetFrameInfo:backBuffer->GetDesc format 0x15 cx=1920 cy=1080 MultiSampleQuality=0, MultiSampleType=0, Pool=0, Type=1, Usage=1GCapture-18:48:36:TRIBESASCEND:GPU resize enabled GCapture-18:48:36:TRIBESASCEND:CreateOffscreenPlainSurface: cx=1920 cy=1080 format=0x15 multisampletype=0x0 You can see from the time i started recording until the next event was an hour of nothing to report. That is about accurate. The next thing is a "GetRenderTargetData FAILED" and a "GetFrameRing Failed" statement. There are HUNDREDS of these all posted in 1 minute...clearly a flood. Then it crashes me and windows says that the program stopped unexpectedly, etc etc. Halp =( Last edited by Tuscloud; 11th May 2012 at 22:05. Reason: data from log files appended |
