Microphone Solution

This took me a while to get figure out and I thought I should post here for others having the same issue.
This is on a Vista Laptop with a Realtek HD Sound card.

Go to Configuration
Select Audio

Select your Microphone input Source (mine is Builtin Microphone)
- I plug in a headset mic into the Pink Mic Input on my machine...
- Make sure your Mic Input is available.. (right click speaker icon in taskbar and select Recording)

Select your Speakers input Source (mine is Speakers)
- No other choice is available for me here....

MOST IMPORTANT
UNTICK the Blue AutoMix icon under the Speaker selector !!

Worked fine from there on...Hope that helps
