Can't upload Channel Title

Hi, I'm new here, like just an hour old, and I've been trying to put a Channel title, but availability always comes out as a red X. Are there 'special characters' that I should avoid? I'm trying to put a hyphen in the title. Is this impossible? I hope not, as my name is hyphenated. Could use a bit of help as a newbie. Thank you. ;-)

Channel names cannot contain special characters including hyphens, as a replacement you can use an underscore.
