Embedding chat only

Is there a way to embed the chat separate from the video? I am using the chromeless java/flash player due to its ability to display the title of the current clip and other channel details dynamically in html. I had read that the new beta chat will be embeddable, but I haven't received any reply to my support email on the topic. So I figured I should ask the community next. Do any of the developers or admins out there know of any chat API or a chat object of some sort?

I would prefer a choice. Those choices being....

1) Both player & chat for standard web pages (The layout we have now will suffice)
2) Player widget for blog sidebar panels (The one we have now will suffice)
3) A resizeable chat widget for blog sidebar panels like the player is now

Just my opinion.....
