Default encoder for Linux

I use Ubuntu for much of what I do. Is there a solution available to encode live feeds that can be streamed to my channel the same way that Adobe Media Live Encoder for Windows works?

Default Went different route

We went with Flash Live Encoder on an XP box. It seems Adobe was working toward a linux encoder, but not sure if they got it done.

Wink livestream shell script for LINUX

a simple helper to fire-up a gstreamer-pipeline
it reads video from a DV1394 Firewire cam, scales, encodes and pushes it to livestream.com via RTMP.

Supports 4:3 and anamorphic 16:9 camera aspect via command-line switch as well as an optional clock overlay.
