Default no embeded video playback in PowerPoint

Why don't videos stream when embeded in PowerPoint? The same videos stream fine through Windows Media Player, but only show a black box on the client screen when played inside of PowerPoint.

I tried disabling overlays in media player but it had no effect.
I also tried using .mpg and .avi files but had the same problem.

Default work around for no embedded video playback in PowerPoint

Well I found a work around, if you insert a Windows Media Player Object in your PowerPoint slide it seems to stream properly. You can set the ui mode to 'none' in the properties panel and it comes pretty close to the same functionality as the standard approach.

I'd still like to know if there's a fix on livestream's end though, since I have dozens of PowerPoints with multiple videos in them that I'd rather not have to redo using the above work around.
