scaleY not flipping in Google TV player

I have a customized livestream player which flips all content upside down (cameras are mounted upside down) using scaleY = -1. This works for all desktop browsers that I've tested with, but will not work with Google TV.

When the player loads, it loads the video thumbnail, which is flipped properly, but once you start playing the video, it reverts to the upside down state. I've tested with a manual button which flips the video while playing from 0 to -1, and it flip flops on the desktop, but does nothing on Google TV.

Does anyone here have any experience with the Google TV flash player? Does it have a different Flash setup than standard desktop browsers?
