Default Channel Settings and Bitrate Streaming

I have a question that I can't seem to find the answer for.

If I set my channel quality to High (700 kbps), and feed livestream (through Procaster) a stream that is 900 kbps... what happens?

Does Livestream degrade the stream to 700 kbps for viewers or stream the broadcast at the full 900kbps?

Conversely, if my channel quality is set to HD (1700 kbps), and I feed it the same 900 kbps stream through Procaster, does LS force the viewer to connect at 1700 to view or does it deliver the stream at 900 kbps?

fingerlakes1,

The bit rate settings in channel configuration have no bearing on your videos recorded with Procaster. They are the specs that uploaded files will be transcoded to if the uploaded files do not directly match the settings.
