Default Video Format Question (.flv and .mp4)

Hi, Livestream.

I mainly use my channel for streaming games, then taking the clips I make to YouTube so people other than my close friends can find them. Before, the videos saved to my Library were in .flv format. These were easily converted to .avi format and split up for re-uploading.

Recently, though, I've noticed the videos were instead saved as .mp4 files. They are much harder for me to deal with. Is there a setting I've missed where I can tell it to save my video clips as .flv files? Failing that, is there any advice anyone can give about handling .mp4s and converting them?

Thanks in advance for any help.

The saved format is related to the streamed format. Previoius versions of Procaster allowed the user to chose between On2VP6 and H.264. The former saved as .flv and the latter as .mp4. Recently Procaster dropped the VP6 option.

I think edit software such as Adobe Premiere CS5 and Sony Vegas would be able to handle .mp4 for editing although I'm sure there are less expensive programs as well.

Try ffmpeg-X, AVS, or Xillisoft converters. Those should do the job just fine.
Also MPEG StreamClip should work. Take your pick.
