Downloading and editing broadcasts

I was wondering how it was possible to download my broadcast and then edit it?

I'm mainly interested it editing out some highlights and reposting them.

I downloaded my broadcast to my desktop and it played fine, but when I try to import the file into a converter the file is empty.

Am I missing something? How can I play the video off my HD but when I try to convert it the file reads 0 data?

Can anyone make some suggestions on how I can go about editing my recorded broadcasts?

Are you running Windows or Mac? What program are you using to play the file and what program to convert the file?

I'm running Windows XP pro and it plays in Windows Media Player and try to import it into XiliSoft Video Converter.

I'm sorry Mal, but I have no experience with that program. Have you written to support at Xilisoft? I have no problems converting files downloaded from Mogulus to my Mac Book. I use ffmpegX for file converting.

Just tonight I tried it with AVS Video Converter... FLV to AVI it converted the video and axed the audio... FLV to WMV it included part of the audio put it was out of sync.

Has anyone found a magic solution for editing and converting FLV in XP?

This surprises me, since AVS is one of the most versatile converters for Windows. Anyone else out there?

I use FLV to AVI MPEG WMV 3GP MP4 iPod Converter and its always worked fine for me.

Have you tried Moyea FLV converter?

You can download the trial version to see if it meets your needs before you buy. This has worked well for other users in the past.

Thanks for the responses and tips.

Someone else suggested Nero to me and I've had success with that now.

The Nero trial doesn't put watermarks or noise on the clip nor does have a file size limit.

It's $80 if you download $100 if you get the CD.

Still searching around for something that allows me to edit the clips, add text etc... and do a nice conversion for me... that doesn't cost $80 first. hehe
