Default Video and audio are out of sync

I am using the built in iSight on my MacBook Pro 2.5 GHz, 4 G RAM. With the current release, the audio and video are slightly out of sync. I tried running 640x480, 400 kbps, 15 fps and also 512x384, 400 kbps, 15 fps and both exhibit this. I believe the last release had better sync.

I have a very fast FIOS connection and have all applications quit except Procaster.

You can view the results at http://www.livestream.com/natetest

Nate,

Yes it seems to be about 500 ms at least. Can you try streaming with QTBroadcaster and compare the results? Just a thought.

When I used the Webcaster the sync was better but the video is worse. I tried using VMWare Fusion and using the PC version of procaster and it was also out of sync. This is with the built in iSight camera and mic on my MacBook Pro. Not sure what the results will be with a Firewire camera.

Video was worse? Using the same settings as Procaster?

Webcaster only allows you to select low medium or high and the frame rate. I have 13 frames a second come up by default and I left it. I tested Medium and High and the results were worse than with Procaster, but the sync was better.

For some reason my webcaster video does not show up at http://livestream.com/natetest

When I use the studio to download the video to my disk, the one with webcaster high quality settings is only 320 x 240, 263 kbps, Sorenson H.263 (Perian) video, Nellymoser ASAO (Perian) mono audio, 44.1 KHz. The one with procaster is 512 x 384 .mp4, but not with H.264 as I selected in the preferences but rather with WowzaMediaServerPro video and AAC mono audio 44.1 KHz, but the bit rate is 551.52 kbps which is why the video looks much better than with webcaster. But the audio sync is much worse than with webcaster.

Using QT broadcaster is not an option.

Nate

Try The Flash Media Encoder instead. Its fully adjustable. A new version for Mac OSX has just been released. Highly recommended.

No, I'm an independent producer like yourself. Have you tried the FLME yet? This should solve your problems.
