Default When "Speakers' Audio" is selected for audio input source, no audio is streamed

I am trying to steam recordings of myself writing music. In the audio mixer, I have the input source set to "Speakers' Audio," but it doesn't record anything. Noting shows up in my live stream or the saved recordings, and the meter in the mixer doesn't move when my computer plays sounds. How can I fix this?

I'm on a Macbook Pro running OSX 10.7.4. I'm using Procaster version 20.3.0M.

I found a solution. I installed and configured JACK (http://jackaudio.org), and from there it was easy to configure and stream audio.
