I set up a livestream account last night, and after setting up the channels itself (i.e. videos that broadcast any time that we will not be live on air) I decided to begin testing the stream.
I had 3 friends on the channel itself. watching the stream using the chat box and at the times that I COULD actually send a stream it was delayed by up to 5 minutes, (least delay was 2 minutes.) I was pretty much unable to do anything on my own system while the stream was runing (It was a desktop broadcast) such as open programs from the start menu, play any media in windows media player or ... well anything rreally, never mind loading up a game such as World of Warcraft etc. I have a 6mb download stream and a min of 2.5 Mb upload stream and I had run Ednitall before beginning broadcasting to close all other processes to allow the procaster to have as many resources as possible, but it constantly woul imediatly jump 10 100% resources used, the frame rate would drop to 2 or 3/sec and within a few minutes it would stop broadcasting by itself. Most frustrating to say the least. Could someone help me ot figure out what the issue is here. I'll enclose my specs for you to look over. maybe you can assertain what the issue is from those alone. ---------------------------------------- SPECS ---------------------------------------- General Operating System Microsoft Windows 7 Ultimate Central Processor Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU P7350 @ 2.00GHz User Name Chris Graphics Video Adapter NVIDIA GeForce 9600M GT Video Memory 512.00 MB Screen Resolution 1680 x 945 Storage Total Memory 4.00 GB Free Memory 2.23 GB Total Hard disk 283.54 GB Free Hard disk 60.77 GB I/O Mouse HID-compliant mouse Keyboard Microsoft eHome MCIR 109 Keyboard Computer System Computer Name CHRIS-PC User Name Chris Organization N/A Operating System OS Name Microsoft Windows 7 Ultimate OS Version 6.1.7601 Service Pack 1.0 Product ID 00426-OEM-8992662-00497 System Up Time 25/01/2012 13:10:56 Internet Explorer Version 9.0.8112.16421 Microsoft DirectX Version 4.09.00.0904 OpenGL Version 6.1.7600.16385 (win7_rtm.090713-1255) Registry Maximum Size 2048 MB Current Size 104 MB Status OK Central Processor CPU Name Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU P7350 @ 2.00GHz Code Name N/A Manufacturer GenuineIntel Current Clock Speed 2000 Mhz Max Clock Speed 2000 Mhz Voltage 1.6V External Clock 1066 Mhz Serial Number BFEBFBFF00010676 CPU ID Intel64 Family 6 Model 23 Stepping 6 Socket Designation CPU Unknown 3072 KB Unknown 32 KB Unknown 32 KB Motherboard Model Aspire 8930 Manufacturer Acer Serial Number Base Board Serial Number BIOS Name InsydeH2O Version V1.05 BIOS Vendor Acer SMBIOS Version V1.05 BIOS Date 07/08/2008 BIOS Features PCI is supported Yes BIOS is Upgradable (Flash) Yes BIOS shadowing is allowed Yes Boot from CD is supported Yes Selectable Boot is supported Yes BIOS ROM is socketed Yes EDD (Enhanced Disk Drive) Specification is supported Yes Int 13h - Japanese Floppy for NEC 9800 1.2mb (3.5, 1k Bytes/Sector, 360 RPM) is supported Yes Int 13h - Japanese Floppy for Toshiba 1.2mb (3.5, 360 RPM) is supported Yes Int 13h - 5.25 / 360 KB Floppy Services are supported Yes Int 13h - 5.25 /1.2MB Floppy Services are supported Yes Int 13h - 3.5 / 720 KB Floppy Services are supported Yes Int 13h - 3.5 / 2.88 MB Floppy Services are supported Yes Int 9h, 8042 Keyboard services are supported Yes Int 10h, CGA/Mono Video Services are supported Yes ACPI supported Yes USB Legacy is supported Yes Memory Resource Total Memory 4.00 GB Used Memory 1.77 GB Free Memory 2.23 GB Memory Usage 44% Physical Memory Memory Bank BANK 0 Description Physical Memory 0 Device Locator DIMM0 Capacity 2.00 GB Speed 800 Mhz Manufacturer 0000000000000000 Data Width 0 bit Memory Type Other Form Factor SODIMM Physical Memory Memory Bank BANK 2 Description Physical Memory 1 Device Locator DIMM2 Capacity 2.00 GB Speed 800 Mhz Manufacturer 0000000000000000 Data Width 0 bit Memory Type Other Form Factor SODIMM Disk Drives Name ST9320421AS Media Type Fixed hard disk media Capability 298.09 GB Interface Type IDE Partitions 4 Total Cylinders 38913 Total Heads 255 Total Sectors 625137345 Total Tracks 9922815 Tracks Per Cylinder 255 Bytes Per Sector 512 Sectors Per Track 63 S.M.A.R.T Support Yes Current Temperature 0C (32F) CD-ROM Drive Name TSSTcorp CDDVDW TS-L633B Drive E: Transfer Rate -1 Status OK IDE Controller Name Intel(R) ICH9M-E/M SATA AHCI Controller Manufacturer Intel Status OK Video Adapter Name NVIDIA GeForce 9600M GT Video Processor GeForce 9600M GT Manufacturer NVIDIA Video Architecture VGA DAC Type Integrated RAMDAC Memory Size 512.00 MB Memory Type Unknown Video Mode 1680 x 945 x 4294967296 colors Current Refresh Rate 60 Hz Driver Version 8.17.12.8562 Driver Date 15/10/2011 Monitor Name Generic PnP Monitor Screen Height 945 Screen Width 1680 Status OK Local Area Connection Product Name Atheros AR8121/AR8113/AR8114 PCI-E Ethernet Controller Service Name L1E Manufacturer Atheros MAC Address 00:A0 1:AB:BB:6EWireless Network Connection Product Name Intel(R) WiFi Link 5100 AGN Service Name NETwNs64 Manufacturer Intel Corporation MAC Address 00:16:EA:9A:FF:20 Sound Device Name NVIDIA High Definition Audio Manufacturer NVIDIA Status OK |

Aedonix,
Your CPU and RAM are at the lower end of our required specs, which may explain the issues you're encountering. You can see required system specs at the following URL: http://www.livestream.com/userguide/...r_Broadcasting

Also check the resolution of your camera output. I had set my camera to HD 1040, this caused problems with my computer. I changed the resolution to 480 and I have not had anymore problems. I could not see any difference in the broadcast quality between the two settings.

Thanks for the suggestion.. the problem isnt the camera.. as i would be using it to brodcast gaming streams and also my desktop (i.e. slideshow using something like windows media player etc. so the camera resolution is't really a factor.
