Default Flip ULtra HD

HI guys
I've got a flip ultra hd camera, second generation
I ws wondering if anyone know how to get it to work
I am on a mac, and with all settings (google adapters, usb class video, etc) it only shows up with the isight camera. I was wondering if anyone could help me hook up the flip camera instead

Thanks
Will

Default Convertor, make HDV to webcam

Anyone who have your DV or HDV become to a webcam?
I have read many about this, and it shows that need a IEEE1394 firewire for the data transffer, but also in livestream User Guide lists us Certified DV Cams, however i believe there is another way for a DVcam that without a IEEE1394 firewire, such as my SONY XR550(oops, this is my new machine)

SO, is there any convertor to have my XR550 an IEEE1394 firewire ouput? and make a HD livestream?

Handycams are generally not meant for streaming, shuriker. Does your computer have a firewire port? I believe your camera has RCA cables - is this correct?

Best,
Jason

I was wondering the same thing, I got the flip so I could stream, but it will not let me. I tried running it in Manycam, but still no dice. How do I do this.

Currently, Livestream only supports cameras that allow digital pass through. The FlipHD would need to be connected through Firewire which is currently not supported with this camera. The only workaround you could do would be to connect the camera via HDMI cable, capturing via the Black Magic card using Procaster.

Hey Shuriker, I've merged your thread with another similar one. Laura's response applies to your question as well.

Best,
Jason

HI, Laura
Yes, there is a HDMI connector on my CandyCam,
Im trying hardly to know more about your words:
1. what is a "Black Magic Card"? is that a common name of a device? if so, can you mention a device name or some words that i can search from google?
2. Is "Procaster" the Livestream Procaster software?

shuriker,

You'll need to get the composite output cable for your Sony XR550 and then connect it to your system via a Decklink BlackMagic card. More info about it can be found here:

http://www.decklink.com/products/

You can download Procaster from Procaster.com, it is our proprietary encoding software.
