Make a new jpg banner 960 x 78 (you can widen the latter if you like) then overwrite the banner on upload. A Banner makes your channel look alot better.

It is my thought that the top banner, or logo of your channel should be 960 pixels in width and any height you prescribe..I like a narrow one so as not to crowd the screen area?
