New Livestream - HD Camera recommendations ?
Hi,
Are there any HD camera suggestions for these categories, as it relates to the New Livestream Broadcaster ? 1.) Basic entry level HD ($200-$500) 2.) Intermediate level HD ($500-$1500) 3.) Semi-Pro level HD ($1500+) I understand that a camera with HDMI pass through is required for the new live stream ? I have ordered my broadcaster already, now need to get a camera. I have a dog show and dog sport event that I need to capture live, and o not want to break the budget. Any and all suggestions welcomed. V |
Anyone ?
I'm struggling to believe no-one has asked this question before, and that I haven't seen an answer yet. Was the broadcaster tested with any specific camera's ? Thanks. |
vacek,
The Livestream support team uses a Panasonic HDC-HS80 ($329.00) with the Broadcaster to favorable results. You can also see a list of recommended production equipment in our Store. |
Thank You

My organization uses the excellent Canon XH-A1. It worked very well until the last Procaster update. Now when we press record on the camera, the stream breaks in Procaster. But I blame the software and not the camera.
In fact we're probably going to buy another one even though it still uses HDV tape. Check out the vivid color! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S_T2D0Lqrrs |
Thanks for the additional suggestion.
I ended up going with a Panasonic HDC-HS80 due to cost only ... The results were fantastic streaming in HD. You can see here our closing ceremonies. http://www.2012nationals.fundyschutzhund.ca Few glitches with the broadcaster, but in general it worked pretty well. I managed to record live in HD for 5 days ... still a ways to go with the broadcaster but we were happy in the end. V |
newmessage,
Could you explain further what occur when you say "the stream breaks"? All additional detail you provide will be useful for troubleshooting. |
I also use Canon XH-A1 and I am pretty satisfied with it.
