Unbannable Spammer
 

Recently, a friend's livestream has come under near constant assault by an unbannable spammer/bot. I'm a mod on their channel, and every time this "Musiik" twit shows up, we attempt to ban IP (Which is the only option given when we attempt to ban them) and clear their message. Every time we have attempted to ban this freak of coding we receive the following message: "Banning failed. You cannot ban a chat moderator." Not only is this person NOT listed in the moderator's list, they have a ban link right next to their name as per normal visitors to the chat. We're confused, frustrated, and in need of help. Someone please let us know what's going on!!

Could you provide the name of the channel and the frequency of the spam?

It seems to have died down at this time. Though we've had a second name pop up (Only once so far.) Normally though, over the past two weeks, my friend streams about 3 times a week, he'll show up, maybe, 3 or 4 times during a stream. Littletales is the name of the stream.

I've run into similar spammers in the Devia channel. We've run into maybe 4 a week, with a stream that runs six days a week. So just a little under once a day.

The most recent user was "Musika_5" just now.

Can't ban them, the best that is able to be done is wiping the chat log, but that seems to kill more than just their messages.

I've managed to ban him a couple times now. The chat mods in my channel all compete to see who can clear and possibly ban him, but I think we'd all rather not see him at all.

I've seen the same spam in a couple other channels at all times of the day.

Whoever this person is, they seem to be striking in random chats. It's definitely a person as well; they reacted rather hotly when someone called them a bot or told them to stop

3-4 times a day. Latest nick is Mussikk, same butterfly graphic, same link. Been going on for a week now. Unable to ban, I get the "banning failed, you cannot ban a chat moderator" message. Channel is katzenwoofers.
