Happy Monday and welcome back to the Livestream music blog! Last weeks shows were out of control, did you see legendary rapper Too $hort playing live at The Knitting Factory Brooklyn? Kick this week off right with Diane Birch streaming live from Joes Pub in Manhattan NY. Diane describes her music as “old soul” a mix of piano virtuosity and easy going, hook driven pop. Next up we have a live session and chat with Graffiti 6 from our own in house studio. This British band blends pop, psychedilia and R&B to create their unique and vibrant musical style. After getting attention on their self-released EP Colours the band signed to Capitol Records and relocated to Los Angeles, where they now call home. This Thursday at 4pmET they’re taking a break from their US east cost for a live acoustic session and chat. FOLLOW the session page and don’t forget to tune in early for behind the scenes updates.
Finally on Thursday night we are so excited to be streaming the record release party for Brooklyn’s own The Big Sleep. The trio’s new album “Nature Experiments” drops February 14th on French Kiss records & we are so excited to get a taste of the new material live! This Tuesday we are so excited for our live studio session and chat with two time Latin Grammy nominee Ximena Sarinana. This Mexican singer/songwriter recently released her first English language album and we can’t to hear these new songs and our favorites off hit debut Mediocre. Don’t miss a chance to see her live before her performance at the sold out that the 2012 Coachella festival. Later on Tuesday we have Anthony Green playing live from Nashville’s the Exit In. Anthony is not only a successful solo musician but also the frontman for the Philadelphia based rock band Circa Survive. He’s currently on a huge US tour with The Deer Hunter promoting his new solo LP and we can’t wait to hear him play the new tracks live. RSVP now and watch live at 9:30pmET
Then on Wednesday we have indie folk star Dia Frampton playing live from the Exit In. Dia was the runner up on the hit NBC show “The Voice” and just released her solo album RED last month. RSVP now to see her playing these new tracks live Wednesday at 9:30pm ET
Welcome back to the Livestream Music blog! This week has already started off with a bang between our Studio Session with The Good Natured and the Herman Dune set live from Joe’s Pub on Monday. Both these great shows can be see on demand at any point so we encourage you to check out the archives.
But the week isn’t over yet and we’ve got some great music coming up. First off we have Matt Nathanson at the Livestream studio for an acoustic session and chat today at 5pm. Matt is currently on tour with Kelly Clarkson for the next few months so we’re excited to hear some fun stories from the road. We also can’t wait for him to play songs off his new record Modern Love that came out last June. On Thursday we are so excited to be streaming Jane Monheit live from the legendary Birdland theater. At the age of 20 Jane Monheit was already named one of the hottest Jazz singers after an amazing performance at the Thelonious Monk International Jazz Vocals Competition.
