Tiger Woods Press Conference Video and Screenshots

Tiger Wood’s live press conference at the PGA Tour Headquarters this morning was a truly viral event. The world’s best golfer has been in the midst of gossip and scandal since November 27th 2009, and for the first time since, publicly addressed those issues.

Traditional and online publishers publicized the event heavily–on Livestream alone over 10 news organizations made the pool feed available to their communities (see our homepage’s screenshot below!). Among them, Associated Press Live (aplive), USA Today (usa_today1) and Canadian broadcaster Global TV (globalnewsnow) streamed on Livestream.com, embedded on their websites and Facebook, and utilized Livestream’s integrated Facebook and Twitter chats.

On November 3, 2009 the new movie ‘2012‘ premiered in Hollywood, and Livestream was there with Livepack to interview some of Hollywood’s biggest celebrities, live at www.livestream.com/2012premiere

The film’s star John Cusack spoke with our producers, immediately followed by the director Roland Emmerich.  Emmerich is known as the producer of some of Hollywood’s biggest blockbusters including ‘Stargate‘, ‘Independence Day‘, and ‘The Patriot.’

The channel received more than 50,000 views as fans from across the country and around the world tuned in to see all of the celebrities gather in anticipation of the release.

Wyclef Jean Lights Up The Stage At the Bermuda Music Fest

Wyclef Jean performed on Thursday October 29 at Quincy Jones’ Bermuda Music Festival, and chose to stream the performance on Livestream using his custom channel page: http://www.livestream.com/clefzonemedia

Fans could tune in and chat with one another live using Twitter or Facebook while Wyclef put on one of his legendary performances.  Wyclef also added the player as a custom App to his Facebook fan page where fans could automatically tune in on Facebook.

The Bermuda Music Fest has been hosting live chat’s with a number of the artists who will be performing during the festival in anticipation of this weekend, including Eykah Badu, Quincy Jones, John Legend and, of course, Wyclef Jean.

NBATV_pmsOn Thursday October 29th basketball fans will be able to go online and chat live with NBA great Kevin McHale at approximately 9:30pm (ET) during half time of the 8:30pm (ET) San Antonio Spurs @ Chicago Bulls game.

Turner Sports, in conjunction with NBA TV, will be broadcasting the game on their cable television network, and hosting the webchat using the custom Turner Sports Livestream channel page and Facebook App.  The Livestream player will also be embedded on NBA.com/turnersportslive, where fans can chat with McHale and each other using the integrated Twitter and Facebook chat.

This will be the first in a series of online Q&A’s that Turner plans to host with NBA stars, following up on the series of Q&A’s that they hosted with MLB stars during the 2009 MLB Post-season.

NASA Ares I-X Launch Covered Live By Spaceflight Now

Picture 36After being delayed for 24 hours due to the weather along the Florida Coast, the Ares I-X rocket successfully launched on Wednesday October 28 at 11:30am ET, from Kennedy Space Center in Cape Canaveral, FL.

The Ares I-X is the first rocket launched in NASA’s Ares I program, which will eventually evolve into a launch system for human spaceflight.  The success of this launch is crucial in bringing about the next phase of NASA space exploration after the Space Shuttle fleet is retired in 2010.

Picture 27On Thursday October 29 Turner Sports will be hosting a web chat with former NBA star Kevin McHale in order to kick of the 2009-10 NBA season.   This broadcast will be a follow up to the past chat’s with baseball players David Wells and Dennis Eckersley during the MLB season. Picture 34The Foo Fighters will be performing live from their own fabled Studio complex 606 on Friday October 30th at 7pm (PT) / 10pm (ET), exclusively on Livestream.com to promote the release of their very much awaited Greatest Hits album. The set will be available on both Livestream and Facebook, and will feature Facebook/Twitter chat integration so that fans can interact with the band and each other live during the performance.

Saw VI Premiere on Livestream

Tonight, Thursday October 22, the movie Saw VI will be premiering at Mann’s Chinese Theater in Hollywood, and Livestream will be there with our Livepack unit streaming the entire red carpet ceremony on Facebook and Livestream.

The broadcast is scheduled to begin at 6:30pm PT / 9:30pm ET and will feature red carpet interviews with the show’s entire cast and crew, including stars Tobin Bell, Costas Mandylor, and Shawnee Smith.

Fans will be able to communicate with the host and each other using the Facebook and Twitter chats that are integrated into the Livestream player.  The format will be very similar to the Astro Boy and Law Abiding Citizen premieres that we streamed over the past few weeks.

Picture 8The Monthly NY Video town hall discussion will take place on Wednesday October 21 at 6:30 pm ET from NYU in New York City.  The discussion will bring together many of the major figures in the New York online video community, and will feature a keynote from Blockbuster Digital VP, Scott Levine. Bill Gates, Founder of Microsoft and Co-Chair of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, spoke on Thursday October 15 at the “World Food Prize Symposium” in Des Moines Iowa.  The event was broadcast in it’s entirety by Gannett publication the Des Moines Register.

The World Food Prize is an award dedicated to the memory of Dr. Norman Borlaug, a scientist who pioneered many innovations in farming that are estimated to have saved over a Billion lives.  He was the recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize, the Presidential Medal of Freedom and the Congressional Gold Medal, making him one of only 6 people to have done so.

The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation is heavily involved in the activities of The World Food Prize and Bill Gates spoke on behalf of the organization in order to recognize the achievements of this year’s recipient Gebisa Ejeta of Ethopia.

Picture 21This morning, Friday October 9, the NASA LCROSS spacecraft impacted with the moon at 7:30am ET / 4:30am PT.  NASA will be hosting a follow-up press conference at 10am ET / 7am PT discussing the landing, and the intentions of the trip.

The LCROSS rocket was sent to the Moon in order to search for water, and landed this morning one of the Moon’s craters.  Livestream Partners Spaceflight Now will be broadcasting the entire press conference, which you can tune into on their official channel page at 10am ET.
