A live feed of the estimated 39 million plus gallons of oil gushing into the Gulf of Mexico has become the focal point for many concerned citizens. The feed, which is hosted on Livestream courtesy of WKRG in Pensacola, Florida, has reached 10 million viewer minutes in less than one week.
Outrage over the oil spill reached fever pitch yesterday as BP began their “Top Kill” procedure and the channel’s concurrent viewers eclipsed 30,000. The feed was embedded on Huffington Post, NY Times (see below) and many other blogs.
