On Tuesday November 3, with the help of Livestream, the International Solidarity for Human Rights (ISHR) began their streaming 10-day reading marathon in an attempt to break a Guinness World Record on behalf of promoting education and basic human rights.
“Words Take Flight” features six female members of ISHR, who will continually read the thirty articles of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. The declaration was adopted by the United Nations in 1948, and while it has been tabbed as the “most translated document in the world,” only one percent of the world has actually read it.
The marathon is taking place in Miami at the InterAmerican campus of Miami Dade College, and will conclude on Friday November 13.
