This past weekend, on Saturday November 7, Lynsee and Anders became parents to Solveig at 1:46 AM ET in front of the Internet world. The birth occurred at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis, and marks the first time a birth has appeared on Livestream. Gannett’s local Minneapolis news station Kare 11 covered the story, broadcast live at www.livestream.com/specialdelivery
Lynsee, a first-time mother, decided to have a live feed of her birth on MomsLikeMe.com and here on Livestream. The new mother, who is a former consumer science teacher, felt the urge to use her documented pregnancy and act of giving birth as a means of education. Up until the birth, she blogged in-depth about her pregnancy, offering advice to future mothers, and connecting with women across the country.
