Picture 36After being delayed for 24 hours due to the weather along the Florida Coast, the Ares I-X rocket successfully launched on Wednesday October 28 at 11:30am ET, from Kennedy Space Center in Cape Canaveral, FL.

The Ares I-X is the first rocket launched in NASA’s Ares I program, which will eventually evolve into a launch system for human spaceflight.  The success of this launch is crucial in bringing about the next phase of NASA space exploration after the Space Shuttle fleet is retired in 2010.
