Thursday October 8 at 4pm ET the Embassy of Finland will host the Science and Technology Symposium, featuring Millennium Technology Prize laureates discussing “Next Decade Technologies Changing the World.” The entire event will be live on the Academy’s custom Livestream channel page.
Steven Lohr of the New York Times will moderate the symposium, which brings together some of the most important figures in Technology, including:
- Sir Tim Berners-Lee – inventor of the World Wide Web
- Shuji Nakamura -inventor of bright-blue LEDs and the blue laser
- Robert Langer – innovations in controlled drug release and tissue regeneration
One of the world’s most prestigious awards, The Millennium Technology Prize is awarded every second year to inspire and recognize technological innovations that provide answers to the challenges of our time and improve quality of life. All of today’s symposium participants are previous winners of the award, which carries with it a 1 million Euro research grant.
