clinton channel The Clinton Global Initiative has chosen Livestream to broadcast the CGI 2009 annual meeting in New York City Tuesday 22 September to Friday 25 September.

Over 60 current and former heads of state have been confirmed to attend the meeting, including President Barack Obama who will be addressing the opening session Tuesday night. Founded in 2005 by former President Bill Clinton, CGI brings together government representatives, political leaders, non-government organizations, and philanthropists to create tangible plans for solving problems around the world.

CGI will be offering 4 camera live coverage of the event using Livestream’s custom grid which will allow viewers to switch between ongoing sessions as they are broadcast live. The player also incorporates a Twitter integrated chat feature allowing users to submit questions and tweet without leaving the viewing page.

In addition to the customized Livestream grid, CGI will also use the recently launched Facebook integrated player.

Here below is a screenshot of the customized 4 channel player with integrated social networking tools.
