Over 8000 Concurrent Viewers Watch Atlantis Take Off Live

Written by Deborah Kornfilt at 5:58 pm under Channels.

The Atlantis Space Shuttle was successfully launched into space at 2:00pm today on the fifth and final repair mission to the Hubble Space Telescope.

The blast off was streamed to over 8000 concurrent viewers on the Mogulus players embedded at Spaceflightnow.com and floridatoday.com.

The Space Telescope will undergo a week of repair before the astronauts return to Earth marking the last time anyone will set foot on the telescope (the telescope is set to run out of fuel sometime next decade and come crashing back into ocean).

If you missed the take off be sure to watch it on demand at www.mogulus.com/spaceflightnow.
