We have released Mogulus Studio version 3.1.11 and Player version 3.1.11.

This release includes several chat features:

- Mute viewers: This feature enables producers to do a live blog using the chatroom. Viewers will be able to see only what producers enter but cannot participate in chat.

- Producer chat: This chatroom is only in the studio enabling producers to discuss privately while in the studio or leave messages for other production team members.
- Clear chat: Removes all past text in the chatroom.

You will also notice that due to popular demand we have returned the user list to the chatroom. Thank you to everyone who contacted us regarding this and other chat requests for all of your feedback and support.

Latest Release: Changes Ahead of Mogulus Pro

Written by Ben Homer at 9:27 pm under Release. 7 Comments

In preparation for the imminent launch of Mogulus Pro, we have made several platform changes as part of the most recent release:

  • We have enforced a limit of 500Kbps (total bitrate) for Flash Media Encoder. If you hit this limit the FME stream will not connect and an e- mail notification will be sent to the channel owner.
  • We have removed the Manage Advertising tab in the most recent version of Mogulus Studio (beta 3.1.9). Existing channels with advertising already disabled will remain ad-free for a two week grace period after the imminent Mogulus Pro launch. After this time, channels will need to upgrade to Pro if they wish to stay ad-free.

Stay tuned for news on the launch of Pro coming very soon.

Taking part in this venture and introducing the students to cutting edge broadcasting technology was an exciting experience for Mogulus!

Marian Porges, Senior Producer at NBC News and Chair of the Broadcast Journalism Department at NYFA initiated the venture, as part of the Broadcast Journalism Program’s curriculum.

Students create their own channels in Mogulus’ conference room.
