A live feed of the estimated 39 million plus gallons of oil gushing into the Gulf of Mexico has become the focal point for many concerned citizens. The feed, which is hosted on Livestream courtesy of WKRG in Pensacola, Florida, has reached 10 million viewer minutes in less than one week.
Outrage over the oil spill reached fever pitch yesterday as BP began their “Top Kill” procedure and the channel’s concurrent viewers eclipsed 30,000. The feed was embedded on Huffington Post, NY Times (see below) and many other blogs.

The Southern Republican Leadership Conference (SRLC) is the most prominent Republican event outside of the Republican National Convention. It is held every two to four years and brings the top Republican activists, donors, candidates, and elected officials together for three days of training, briefings, receptions and speeches from the leaders of the Republican Party. This year, the SRLC will be held from Thursday April 8 to Sunday April 11 and broadcast on Livestream at http://livestream.com/srlc.
This year’s conference promises to be the most exciting in years, with some of the biggest names in the party scheduled to speak.
Governor Sarah Palin will be speaking to the 2010 SRLC and had this to say:
“I’m looking forward to addressing conservative activists from across the south at the 2010 Southern Republican Leadership Conference. This is a great opportunity to listen and speak to those who are helping to set the direction of our party.”
Also appearing at the conference are former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich, Family Research Council president Tony Perkins, former US Senator Rick Santorum, Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal, online publisher Andrew Breitbart and many more.
